This is one of the best mildly interesting posts I have ever seen.

I am not sure how to put it nicely, but it is commonly considered a sign of bad maintenance to have split hair.

It's mildlyinteresting, not roastme or haircare advice.

calm down guys, we're splitting hairs here

einkorn@feddit.org · 12 pts · 361d (1 reply)

Sure, but if OP thinks this everyday thingy is mildly interesting, they might not know about it and profit from an explanation. And as I said I am specifically trying to not roast OP.

I think a double split end is a pretty great fit for mildly interesting? It's not that it's a split end, it's that the split ends then split.

That's a really low bar for a roast.

Lol 😂 If your hair reaches a certain length you are gonna have splits, no mater what. That's just how it is. Sure, you can reduce it with good care and regular cutting, but I don't think I know a single long haired person who doesn't have at least some split hairs.

Some beard hairs are splitting.
Happens because I kinda like to involuntarily chew on them

Chozo@fedia.io · 16 pts · 361d (5 replies)

Look closer at the left split. OOHHHH BABY A TRIPLE!

usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 360d

Ooo I didn't notice that until zooming in on the picture! 5 ends might be bordering on actually interesting.

Zozano@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 361d (3 replies)

Lol.

What you think is the second split, is actually the shadow.

Chozo@fedia.io · 3 pts · 360d (2 replies)

I'm taking about this part: https://files.catbox.moe/vdd9zb.jpg

Zozano@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 360d (1 reply)

Isn't that the 'triple'?

I only see two splits.

Chozo@fedia.io · 2 pts · 360d

I might've cropped in too close the first time. https://files.catbox.moe/e42k6l.jpg

Maybe I was born with it?

JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 361d

Nah. Maybe it's OP.

I heard you like splits...

diptchip@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 360d (2 replies)

Could it actually be a quadruple split end if we had more than potato camera? I can see 5 ends in this picture.

usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 360d (1 reply)

I was considering one split=two ends, so was calling it a double-split (four ends) since it only looked like four to the naked eye, the fifth end only apparent in the picture after I posted.
