I've found the easiest way to avoid this is to simply not have it in the house...and shop online with delivery to avoid impulse purchases while walking in the store. My food budget has never been so well managed since I stopped shopping physically at the grocery store.
It's a side effect of hyper focus (with possibly a bit of indecision mixed in). Everyone experiences ADHD a little differently, but I definitely related to your comment and I have ADHD (for what it's worth).

Yeah I stopped having it in my house. Crisps were my vice.
Now my mentality has changed and the habbit is gone.

I don't buy groceries online, but I make an effort not to go to the store hungry, to reduce impulse buying of junk/unhealthy food.

8:00 - hitting snooze
12:00 - thinking of breakfast, no time
18:00 - eat some chips or chocolate, going for a walk
23:00 - realizing I barely ate anything, completely losing control and dignity and digging through the fridge

Is this a typical ADHD symptom? Maybe I should get tested. I'm struggling a lot lately.

Tf, who do the aperitivo?

I'm like the opposite. Low quality food all day long and then a fruit or something so that I can trick myself into feeling healthy.
I'm not proud of it...

Earned it, I would say.

Intermittent fasting helped me with this one. You just make it a rule that past a certain hour you're done.
