Before cheap and effective SEO utterly ruined it? That was a very, very, very long time ago. As early as 2003, Google had to start rolling out countermeasures because legitimate businesses were complaining that the search results had been gamed so badly. By 2014, keyword stuffing has made Google nearly useless as a search engine.

Using -ai to remove ai results from Google search. Sometimes the ai "helpfully" quotes the -ai, rendering it non-functional. How helpful!

Finding accurate information about aboriginal Americans online is already hard as hell and was filled with inaccuracies already. With AI I fear more cultural erasure by flooding search results with sludge information. As a guy that studies Aztecs this shit drives me nuts.
