  • Take any old computer (It doesn't matter how old or slow that it is, it just needs to post)
  • Install Linux on it
  • plug it into a tv
  • use a wireless mouse/keyboard

You now have something better than Roku will ever make.

Been using Jellyfin for a bit now. Kind of a jank setup (Rπ hooked up to separate NAS) but it's way better than Synology's built in media app and the Roku based one. One of these days I'll have a "proper" selfhosted setup.
