The chances of it being caused by cosmic ray is astronomically small. It's a lot more likely that it was caused by an N64 hardware glitch.

Does that change the outcome, though? If a bit flipped by a cosmic ray is allowed for a speedrun, a bit flipped by a hardware glitch should count as well, and vice versa
