Alien archeologists will discover one of these in pretty much every building on the planet, often in a dedicated room, sometimes in communal rows with no idea what it's for.
Me (B.A. in near eastern classical archaeology): Okay...is it a Greek mug? Or is it an Etruscan mug? If it's greek, why is it in the Etruscan museum of Villa Giulia? If it's an Etruscan mug, why is the poster saying it's Greek. No..no...no....nothing about this makes any sense at all.
