Honestly it does feel like he's campaigning for them at this stage. I don't think anyone is going to like this policy, even the far-right who he is trying to appease with this aren't going to trust a mandatory government app on their phones.
Those eejits get their knickers in a twist over the emergency alerts broadcast system! Which is one of the most privacy respecting methods of communication on your phone!
