I've been thinking the same myself. Feudalism ended in Europe after the Black Plague economically empowered the survivors, because they can demand higher wages due to labour shortages. With the coming of AI and automation, we may not have labour to leverage, but we could demand financial compensation and UBI after powers-that-be stole our data.
