There are places called "Newcombe" or "Newcomb", which are pronounced the same as "nukem".

Duke In Time was one of my favorite Duke Nukem games. Along with a collection of user maps/total conversion mod for Duke3D that pre-date the game and possibly inspired the title to begin with.
