Yeah, as long as you can avoid it, don't go back to businesses that EVER violated the morals that they claimed to have. Make them hurt for what they do.
Sadly this will be spun by the complicit western lapdog press as "an alarming degree of anti-semitism among japanimation fans" or some such bullshit instead of, you know, a principled stand against Israel's genocide.
The Crunchyroll player hasn't been great. I think recently they basically stopped letting you choose a video resolution so sometimes I just have a 480p anime stream foisted upon me.
Piracy is illegal, and while those laws are not really enforced outside of America and Japan (as far as I know) I generally don't like doing illegal things. Is the law more important to me than genocide I guess is the question, but it's a question for February me since I was on the annual plan.

Stick to piracy. Don't go back when they yield. Make QN example of them.
Disney got a black eye, but we csn put crunchyroll in the fucking ground.

I mean, if it's trivial shit, who cares. This is fascism and genocide. Twist the knife, never forgive.

Bunch of boot licking cunts. I hope enough people cancel to make them reconsider their stupidity.

Just deleted it. But I don't really want to have to go back to piracy.

Pirating media is just better experience than subscriptions though

Never had my hard drive tell me I'm not allowed to finish a series when I'm 3/4 of the way through

The inconvenience is kinda the point. Does wonders for my backlog when I can say "this is a Amazon Prime exclusive? Guess I'm not watching it".

Proprietary streams keep getting more and more enshittified to the point of supporting genocide.
Meanwhile piracy just keeps getting better and better.

Copyright should not exist. There should not be so much money in slop, and far more money in the art that resonates with people enough to buy merch.

There’s ADN though you would need to watch the episodes in French and connect to a VPN server in France to use it.

Does anyone have an actual article, or reference? Best I can find is memes and social media posts. It honestly feels like an Internet hoax

Apparently they're using an Israeli company for subtitling services or something
panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 315d
Didn’t ffmpeg just add automatic subtitling with whisper?
It seems to me that open source could easily power the bulk of subtitling and then a human could manually refine it for quality.

Isn't Whisper OpenAI ?
panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 314d
Yes but they published the weights and there is whisper.cpp or the official whisper repo

I wish there was a true community-run FOSS alternative
