I disagree with other commenters. This does feel wild to read out loud. Maybe I’m just old but “backpack laser drones” sounds like a joke to me.

It only sounds wierd if you haven't been paying attention. Laser targeting units have been backpack sized for some time. Getting it airborne isn't a large leap.
