I finally got to play today and it rocks

Tried getting it running on my Steam Deck and it fired up in all defaults without issue and runs great. Did about a dozen solo runs to get to know it and had a blast. I don't shell out full price for games very often because I'm not into hype cycles but I think these devs deserve the support for doing so much work on this excellent game.

I had the chance to participate in tech test 2 earlier this hear, that server slam was my most anticipated moment of the year haha

For everyone who's ever played Marauders and felt it stopped short right before it became great, it's like Embark picked up where they left off and improved it a lot.

And let's give them a hand for spending so much time on optimization, the game runs like a dream on very high settings and looks amazing.

Does it work on Linux or are they using kernel anti cheat bullshit?

I dont know about Arc Raiders but for their other game (The Finals), they've actively been working on making a Linux build work with their anticheat (EAC)

So I would hope the same energy will be put for that one

I can't tell if there's any anticheat going on but if it runs on the Deck in SteamOS (Linux) proton layer most legacy anticheat programs don't.

GTA-V online got eff'd earlier this year on the Deck because they added anticheat.

They use a new version of EAC, but they have allowed Linux support, same as with The Finals, from the same developers
