This really sounds more like a forked sequel series than a "reboot." SMG is playing Buffy, there isn't some 24 year old playing a 16 year old named Buffy. Which is better than trying to recreate the original, IMO.

My assumption is that they have have preferred poses/smiles for photographs in the media. She might have forgot to bring the one we're used to.
