Not sure if my question will be seen by anyone since this "weekly thread" is three weeks old, but I don't see anywhere else to ask, so:
Why does it seem making a post anywhere on Piefed, even right here in this community, requires a link/url?
I could understand if it was just in communities for posting about news, but not here. Can someone explain?

Since this is PieFed, I guess it could use some posts' flair like help has. Definitely "Solved" one but then there could be a few categories for marking what one has problem with, named from newcomers' perspective

The default post type appears to be “link”, but you can change it to “discussion”.
