Rivian R2 Compact SUV Will Cost $40,000 And Arrive Sooner Than Expected

My favorite vehicle my family had when I was growing up was an old Jeep Wrangler. If this is similar with a cloth top and easily cleanable interior, this will most certainly be on my short list ahead of an ev truck.

Rivian’s Claire McDonough has said the newcomer will be priced between $40,000 and $60,000 when it arrives in 2026 2028.

The pessimist in me editing the above statement... lol. I do think Rivian has actually done OK in the timing department, but I'm less optimistic about the price.

Still, it's always better to have more options. If there's actually a $40k Rivian that comes to fruition, I'd probably buy it at the drop of a hat.

I don't think I'll ever be able to get past the unibrow light setup Rivian uses. Does everybody else like that styling? Maybe I'm the odd one out.
