Steak and eggs

I'm having a rather shit day, so I decided to cook something nice for myself. T-bone steaks were on sale for $4.99/lb at a local grocer and I had some left over mashed potatoes. I threw a little flour and garlic powder into the potatoes to make a sort of latke, fried up a couple of eggs over easy, and made some toast.

Ah, I should be ashamed. I never gave a wellness check of the steak. I reverse-seared this one and maybe left it in for a min too long. It looks rarer than it was, still good though.

Crisping up some mashed 'taters is a fantastic way to use them up. Usually you add egg and flour to help bind, but some flour is all I used here. Thow that mix into some heated oil in a pan and you've got yourself a tasty pseudo latke. They're usually served with sour cream or apple sauce.

No doubt. Our local Save-A-Lot has contracts with some of our local farms and they cut in the store which is awesome for us. They usually have excellent prices on meats.
