This is related to my cat, not my dog, but I really like the question and there’s not a lot of engagement yet. I’m happy to remove it if it’s a sore spot.
I don’t know if I’m just 100% anthropomorphizing her or if she’s actually very in tune with me, but I’ve noticed that when I go to explain why my cats doing what she’s doing, my explanation actually says more about my emotional state than I’m even always aware of. Like, when I start to think that my cats overwhelmed, I should take a deep breath myself.
It could just be that we mirror each other and are very in sync, but it could also be that I just read my own motivations into her actions.
