I looked into it, because I was ready to shit all over him as well, but it turns out he was found not guilty in every accusers case. At least in the research I was able to do.
He had to pay because these big contracts have morality clauses, whoever breaks the contract had to pay the prescribed penalty. He broke the contract by violating the morality clause and so he had to make the studio whole.
At this point he seems like a cockroach who keeps popping his head out and wanting to be accepted again, and not accepting the resounding no thanks from Hollywood

I'm sure he's done plenty of creepy shit, but it looks like he was railroaded a bit.

What's weird is they fired him then ordered him to pay them $30 million for not fulfilling the role. LOL

Morality clauses arent contingent on the same "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard that criminal cases require.
Its very possible the judge/jury thought Spacey was a creepy rapist, but didnt think the proof quite hit the high bar to convict.

Civil vs criminal cases. The morality clause has a lower bar. The same situation with OJ Simpson.

Is "living out of hotels" cheaper than buying a normal home and just settling down? do we owe him a lavish high life? WFT?
