Isn't a plastic back a pro? The glass ones are so delicate.

Glass costs more. So reviewers often list plastic as a con. Plus, it can be get scratched. You get ceramic coating on the black and violet variants back panel with glass.
The sandstorm white variant uses fiberglass on its back. But, the frame and camera deco use Micro-arc Oxidation (MAO) which should be durable.

Ngl I'd prefer a scratched plastic back than a shattered glass one. Most glass-backed phones I've used are way too slippy as well.

If I don't have a case on my Pixel it will literally slide off any surface I place it on. My desk is very nearly level, but if I put it there and look away, next thing I know it's fallen on the floor.

That was exactly my point of reference as well lol.
Both my Pixel 6 and 8 ProMy Pixel 6My Pixel 4 would slide off a freaking wooden tabletop that was slightly crooked. The Pixel 6 and 8 aren't as bad because of the massive camera bump. I have had the 8 pro slide off tables as well, but that was also because i positioned it kinda weird. A plastic phone wouldn't have slipped off though.
Sorry for all the edits, I forgot how many Pixels I've had at this point.

Hmm, the glass backs I've had get scratched too, on top of being really slippery to hold.

These oneplus phones(black and violet) have a ceramic coating which cannot be scratched that easily. Watch this MKBHD short video to see what I mean: https://youtube.com/shorts/jrzK4xL_W4Q

While It says 6 years of updates. Its just 4OS updates and 6 Years of security updates. After motorola it seems everyone is skirting around the EU regulations one way or other.

Oh yes let me bomb my eyes 165 times each second with those sweet addicting gacha gambling mobile games while the phone is melting!

The camera downgrade is pretty disappointing.
