Two things stopping me from using Jellyfin over VLC. Advice?

With VLC I can control the volume with the scroll wheel and go to 200%. Thing is, we're watching on the couch, not near the PC. With Jellyfin I'm constantly fiddling with the KB or hunting with the mouse to raise and lower volume. Any way to both bind the scroll wheel to volume and push it past 100%?

what's the rest of the setup? do you use a desktop pc? ljnix with pulse or pipewire? do you have an amp and speakers?

you could either crank those up or use pavucontrol to add some gain to your jellyfin

I find jellyfin pretty lack luster in the player department, missing so many features I really like.

I haven't tried it yet but there is a way to set up kodi to have access to the jellyfin server. Might extend kodi's controls to jellyfin playback. Been meaning to try it out but haven't had time. Might even be able to use kodi's remote android app as a media remote for playback.

That's good to know. I'll be setting it up to give it a whirl soon then.
