Absolutely agree, I got off all social media except Reddit and then Lemmy when I realized how it was being used and the enshittification of course.
I got her on reddit too years ago and that was better, but then the apipocalypse got us both off the platform and I went to Lemmy and she went to Insta. :/
She's gotten noticably more anti-men since too, I get it men fucking suck but she's like straight up getting to a misandric level.
Not to mention buying more beauty products from watching makeup tutorials and shit so frequently.
How do you think it got this way? Because most Americans don't engage with politics, therefore letting the people who perpetrate those things have nearly free reign to decide for you that's what you want.
You don't really have to "hit it big" even moderate success (comparatively) is enough to pay the bills for a long while from what I've heard from a few indie devs online.
There's a case in the US right now where a woman murdered her 3 children and tried to kill herself.
Instagram conspiracies abound that she was innocent and it was actually the husband who did it all even though the defense isn't even trying to claim she didn't do it.
There's some genuine medical malpractice shit from what it sounds like but that's American healthcare for you.
One thing, any chance you've heard of a way to have two remotes, one basically ignored gitignore (personal self-hosted storage) vs front-facing with github or similar?
Yeah there's no doubt the medical system failed her spectacularly and she should get the insanity plea IMO.
But then social media makes it a woman vs man thing instead of focusing on how it exemplifies how fucking horrible our medical system is.
Gets my conspiracy brain going a little on that one lol.

Idk how to show her its warping her worldview
My wife started getting into it from Instagram crap and was talking about how it's possible if not likely the husband actually did it.
I took 5 minutes to find she's not even saying she didn't do it and that still doesn't matter to her.
I do not fucking get it, and was accused of being misogynistic for not thinking it was possible the husband did it.
I can't even with social media

I remember that happening, I think they did eventually fix that
