But it was pre-partum. Obi-wan sees the recording, fights Anakin, then watches Padme give birth.

Poor guy was denied a well deserved promotion but was still getting extra responsibilities.

PPD isn't funny imo

hanrahan@slrpnk.net · 9 pts · 17d (3 replies)

indeed, but what's even more depressing is using it as an excuse to slaughter your children and having people support you and raise millions... hence the meme.

What am I missing here?

There's a case in the US right now where a woman murdered her 3 children and tried to kill herself.

Instagram conspiracies abound that she was innocent and it was actually the husband who did it all even though the defense isn't even trying to claim she didn't do it.

There's some genuine medical malpractice shit from what it sounds like but that's American healthcare for you.

The people who donated money should probably have their kids taken away

W3dd1e@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 17d

Yeah I find this meme kind of offensive.

And also it makes so damn sense bc Anakin didnt give birth and didn’t have any kids when he was being evil.

Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 17d

Yeah this is fucking gross, especially considering the trial that's coming to an end in the US

Mulligrubs@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 17d

"Your honor, one of the kids said "All lives matter" at the lunch table, and the other children laughed. It's a well-known fact that if you sit at the table with Nazis, you are a Nazi. Your honor, he can't tolerate intolerance, his hands were tied. They killed themselves."

The room erupts with applause.

the jedi was pregnant

If this was a possible from ppd then those women should not be allowed to leave the hospital until they are no longer a risk.

Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 17d (5 replies)

Let's just institutionalize women until the kids are 18! Problem solved

minorkeys@sh.itjust.works · -5 pts · 17d (4 replies)

If a mother is a persistent threat to the life of a child, you want the state to just send them home together?

Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 16d (3 replies)

PPD often isn't immediately after giving birth, such as the case we're talking about. It can take days, weeks, months to set in. And the state doesn't run the hospitals

minorkeys@sh.itjust.works · -3 pts · 16d (2 replies)

The state defines the laws that govern us and the hospital, so it is the state's decision. If PPD can result in child murder, maybe we should withhold the child until it's clear there is no danger.

Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 16d (1 reply)

Wow. You're clearly not in healthcare, childcare, the legal system as a whole, or government work whatsoever. I'm not going to waste any more time on you.

minorkeys@sh.itjust.works · -3 pts · 16d

But you support endangering infants.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 17d (2 replies)

In hindsight, she probably should have been institutionalised. Or at the very least, not left alone with her kids.

W3dd1e@lemmy.zip · 12 pts · 17d (1 reply)

She did go to doctors, her husband, and other people telling them that she wasn’t okay and may need to be institutionalized for some time but doctors didn’t take her seriously.

That’s why this case is so wild.

osanna@lemmy.vg · 2 pts · 16d

Both Patrick and Lindsay have filed civil suits against the doctors and nurses who ignored her pleas. The fact that Dr Tufts gave her meds, she had a bad reaction to them, so she gave her more meds is fucking insane.
