Just discovered Booster Blitz - a limited format you should try!!

Learned about it from this recent video by Tolarian Community College and it was WAAAY more fun than I expected.

Basically two players open up a pack of magic and use it to build decks of 3 cards. Then you play each deck with infinite mana and 5 life. Draws are possible obviously. Since Final Fantasy Play boosters only have 14 cards, we played 4 decks of 3 cards, and had a 2 card "side-board".

So the deck building fun is in trying to make each pile able to do 5+ damage.

We played where the winner of each round won all 6 cards in play. That way we got to play all our decks. The other way to play would be first to two wins and winner-take-all. Or just keep your own cards of course.

In my picture are two decks I made that I thought were pretty fun (and really my other two decks weren't bad either). The top deck I thought was unbeatable but I misplayed by playing my Lunatic Pandora my first turn and passing - and it got Suplexed... But it would have been a sweet deck otherwise! My plan was to target a creature with Zenos, kill it with Lunatic Pandora (flipping Zenos), then bring back Lunatic Pandora with Delivery Moogle...

My opponent (my wife) was sad to learn in a different round that Syncopate doesn't really work when we both have infinite mana...

Anyway, I 100% will be playing Booster Blitz again. Hopefully often. It's a cool way to open packs, and get to play with them. I could see myself wanting to play this after every pre-release or something. Gonna walk around with two packs always. Can't wait to build my Booster Blitz Cube 😜 Sorry to oversell it, but it was just way more fun than I expected haha.
