Well yeah, it (likely — I haven't read it) includes concessions where the Ukraine gives up land, and Russia doesn't give up any. Ukrainians are asked to take a loss to prevent greater losses later, but like we've seen with the Israel/Gaza "ceasefire", nothing stops Russia from coming back and taking more.
Trump and Putin have butted heads, but it's no secret that Putin played a large role in Trump getting appointed in 2016 (he lost the popular vote by ~3 million, but was appointed to the presidency anyway).
Western information landscape is broken. It's not a peace plan, and Russia won't accept a 'cease-fire' plan from US when they are clearly winning. 'Ukraine' is just a battering ram. Russia have stated their demands many many times, and there will be no 'peace' until the root causes of the conflict is discussed. For those that still follows US/western media: US created the conflict and are just using Ukraine as a proxy. It didn't go as planned, and US are now 'handing over' the "Russia problem" to EU, and re-focusing their propaganda and warmongering on China - same playbook - same desire for world hegemony by 'keeping competitors down'.
Study the 'The Duran', Brian Berletic, Ben Norton or many many others if you want to lean how/why US did it, for how long and how its going..
