With all the mergers recently, almost every theatrical movie is going to be a Disney movie soon.

Independent and smaller scale cinema isn't going anywhere. It's not going to make headlines though. Disney sucks all the oxygen in the press room.

I hadn't even heard of Ella McCay until seeing this very post, so maybe the problem is that no one knows it exists.
Same thing happened with Strange World; I hadn't heard of it until after news came out about how bad it bombed.
