I did this the other day to my wife.
She asked why i put something there, i said i didn't do it you must have (she's 8months pregnant) so she said oh i guess I don't remember but I don't remember a lot at the moment.
I remembered doing it the next day, but I've not told her

There's no such thing as gaslighting. You made that up.
pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 261d
no it was me
festnt@sh.itjust.works · 13 pts · 261d
which is why i always put an "i think" on anything my memory could mess up
then, if they take it as correct, they gaslit themselves, because i was clear i wasn't 100% sure about it

I'm a huge fan of "I seem to recall" at least as far as I remember.

festnt@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 260d

Is it “on accident” or “by accident”?
NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 260d
It’s never “on accident”.
pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 261d
i think that's the main punchline here
HowAbt2day@futurology.today · 3 pts · 261d
I mean, which is the correct way to say it. On or by accident? I’ve heard it said both ways.
NOT_RICK@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 261d
On accident wouldn’t be considered correct in a formal context but it’s totally fine in an informal setting.
Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 261d
Just use accidentally. No confusion there

Maybe they gaslit you into thinking you had a bad memory

Neurodivergent families need to be open and not defensive or this accidental gaslighting can ruin childhoods.
aloofPenguin@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 261d
