What does this have to do with gundams though?

Pat_Riot@lemmy.today · 23 pts · 248d

Might be the only Japanese thing OP knows the name of.

GrammarPolice@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 248d

Oppa gundam style!

I'll see myself out...

I am assuming because a) Japanese, as the other person said and b) Gundam is where robots in the future fight bad guys, right? So the invasive chestnut species is the bad guy, therefore Gundam

Also maybe Gundam has time travel, idk. I haven't watched it so I'm pulling this from thin air. I just know Gundam has cool fighting robots

The chestnut was the vehicle that brought the fungus, kinda like a mobile suit.

Not a botanist but as a southerner I'd go to the Centennial Expo and the Chicago World's fair to try to keep Kudzu out of America. That weed is a fucking problem

It's crazy to see the places I grew up completely overgrown, the plants and flowers and colors I'd see bloom along the mountains choked by a jungle-green slope of garbage. Hate.

a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 248d (4 replies)

How about Spanish Moss?

lauha@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 248d (3 replies)

What about earth worms‽

a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 248d (2 replies)

I think those are native.

lauha@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 247d (1 reply)

North America had only one minor earth worm species before Europeans arrived.

a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 247d

Huh, cool.

Sorry, nah, I'd be punching Luther Burbank in the dick and setting everything he had on fire.

(Himalayan blackberry)

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 248d

you may have explained why our blackberries are so good. we've been cloning a california blackberry everywhere we move, and all the nurseries here sell himalayan blackberries. we've also got a little patch of wild california blackberries in the hills we're tending. got the best jam.

At the same time, if the time traveler could prevent the American vines to be imported in Europe it would be great !

rbos@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 248d

I don't think it would have been possible to keep it out. :/
