It's mind boggling how poorly designed most of these systems are. These are multi-billion dollar corporations and they can't do a simple thing correctly for the most part when it comes to these systems.
For example, I don't know why this isn't the top and foremost thing but a car should NEVER be able to override when the human driver is trying to do. Sure, beep and adjust if veering out of the lane but as soon as any resistance it met by the wheel it should immediately turn off and let the driver do what they want to do.
How do they determine the beginning of a river? Should it be the furthest point of something? Why isn't the Missouri River the "Mississippi" and the remaining portion of the Mississippi north of that junction the Missouri instead?
Are there any studies that link phone use inside schools to those issues? Because I can easily believe that declining grades could be attributed towards the use of tablets and laptops being used in classrooms as well which many schools are encouraging or increasing the use of.
As for attention spans I would believe it's for the use of phones/tablets/electronics from a young age rather than the use of them inside of a school itself.
They probably don't care if you use a different service if you don't log in to use theirs. If you don't log in they can't easily monetize you by tracking your data and building a portfolio. Otherwise you use their resources at a cost and they don't make money.
So threatening to leave for other services isn't exactly a threat.

Democratic party doesn't care about the country. They are all just sitting there raking in a paycheque and getting rich off insider trading all while someone else gets blamed for the bad shit happening. This is their perfect scenario. Why would the actually work and bring attention to themselves when they can just ride the wave for four years and get rich.
I would have to put it away in some locked account that only pays interest each year and doesn't let me have any access for like 20 years. Otherwise it would be gone in 4 months.
I've spent a lot of time with it since 1.0 released and my biggest gripes are the NPC combat and base building.
NPCs are complete idiots and patching ruins the combat.
Building is just so limited and there are lots of quality of life improvements which should have been included and are pretty standard in other survival crafting games.
Not sure about your specific government but typically they would use data like number of people in a certain area and income class to decide where bus stops should be located, number of people with a certain religion to determine zoning of religious faculties that can be constructed, number of people with young children to determine where schools need to be built, etc.
People always complain about schools being to crowded and little portable classrooms becoming permanent and it's partially due to not knowing how many children those schools should be built to accomodate.
I mean, don't blame the government when they make bad policy decisions then. You can't make informed decisions if you don't know the demographics for particular areas.
Well, ya but I don't think it would be 100% identical to trees. Lignin didn't really even exist for millions of years before trees evolved to fight gravity on land. But underwater you wouldn't need a strong trunk like that since they would weigh so much less and can evolve buoyancy structures or something like other plants do. Or even short and stout, just massive.
All of those variables to me appear like they would be similar on land. Currents move but so does wind, and I don't think their are any currents in the ocean that can rival hurricane force winds that trees can contend with.
