Really cool, but I would never let one of these into my home. We've all seen "I, Robot", right? The only way I would even consider having one is if it ran on libre software.
I've heard HuggingFace has made a couple open source robots not sure if they are libre fully but they seem interesting. A couple other projects are on YouTube too
The more advanced ones are still not being done as open source though
Nice to see a robot that doesn't walk like it has shit its pants. 👍
It was a smart move by Hyundai to buy Boston Dynamics.
This demo compared to Tesla is way more impressive IMO, Tesla is nowhere near this sophistication in their design.
[15 Tech CEOs standing on the spent bodies of millions of workers, the CEOs' heads just reaching above the clouds of dystopian grime and smog to see the shining sun on the horizon]: I don't know what you're talking about, the future is beautiful!
Quite impressive, but not necessarily in a positive way. I especially get uneasy with the robot having 360 degree vision, turning its head 180 degrees, walking backwards towards me, and in the process rotating the rest of its body. I do appreciate them not trying to make it look like a human, nor treating it as one. Seeing the renders of groups of these clankers, especially with the knowledge of them being able to share their "intelligence", is frankly horrifying to me.

Exactly and that's why open source community-run stuff needs to be explained to people so more people switch over. https://alternativeto.net/ and https://european-alternatives.org/ will help a ton for people to find more

These are not for home use, these are for strapping munitions on to kill people without soldiers with a conscience.
Boston Dynamics was not ever set up to make dancing videos.

Stop calling your robots Atlas, they'll never be as cool as Atlas from Portal 2
