I'm thinking of replying with this:

SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 221d (4 replies)

Do it

NABDad@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 221d (3 replies)

I'm trying to decide how much irritation my manager can handle.

SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 221d (2 replies)

Great! Start with this, and slowly escalate every week or two until they stop perstering you.

eager_eagle@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 221d

Idk, they might be into that shit

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 220d

Double it every day

eager_eagle@lemmy.world · 45 pts · 221d (6 replies)

send them this

binarytobis@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 221d (2 replies)

This person was so passionate about wasting time with introduction messages that they pay a recurring domain renewal to make their point.

Almacca@aussie.zone · 13 pts · 220d

Worth it.

littlewonder@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 220d

It's a delicious type of petty hatred and I love it.

YetAnotherNerd@sopuli.xyz · 22 pts · 221d (1 reply)

The kind of people who do that can’t be bothered to read the link, either. Alas.

eager_eagle@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 221d

I missed it, but it's a different one

jjjalljs@ttrpg.network · 3 pts · 221d

I've sent this to many coworkers.

I wanted to introduce a jar where every time you sent a useless "hello" message you had to put double whatever you put in last time (starting at $1). People are empty headed idiots maybe losing +$1000 will wake them up.

Agent641@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 220d

Saddam is hiding in the first comment.

FrostyPolicy@suppo.fi · 19 pts · 221d (4 replies)

I truly hate this. At work I've told everyone that if they just send a "hello" message it will be ignored. I have things to do other then going twenty rounds of "hello" before getting into the actual subject.

poweruser@lemmynsfw.com · 6 pts · 220d (2 replies)

can I ask you a question?

user is typing. . .

jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 220d (1 reply)

"Can I ask you a question?"

"No."

wibble@reddthat.com · 2 pts · 220d

Well, they just did. Could say that it's $1/question then charge them $2 after answering their actual question

Chozo@fedia.io · 4 pts · 221d

Good afternoon, Frosty.

cattywampas@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 221d

Put a trigger warning on this jfc

Adulated_Aspersion@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 220d

In Teams, use your pedantic BS pleasantry if you absolutely must.

But then use [CTRL] + [Enter] to start a new line and type out your message or request.

And while I am at it..... stop randomly calling people. Set a meeting or ping / text it.

- can I ask you a question?

- you just did. Have a good day.

GreenKnight23@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 220d

I straight up ignore anyone who does this.

I don't give a fuck if it's the CEO.

don't waste my time.

macaw_dean_settle@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 221d (1 reply)

12:45 p.m. is not morning.

enbee@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 7 pts · 220d

Time zones

Worx@lemmynsfw.com · 6 pts · 221d

"Good morning

Did you know that you can send a greeting and the actual body of the request in the same message?

If you waste my time again I will scream.

Yours faithfully, NABDad"

foggy@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 221d

Jfc you just do both at the same time.

"Hey, I'm reaching out with regard to ticket 27472. I'll need to remote into your device. You'll see a notification that it's happening. I just wanted to give you a heads up that the notification is expected behavior. Let me know if you have any questions!"

One message.

Do work.

"Hey again, the .zip is benign. Thanks for reaching out! Feel free to open it."

They respond "thanks sorry I was at lunch"

"👍"

Never speak again.

Hello.

izax@pawb.social · 2 pts · 220d

Reminds me of the old MSN web browser that would say this to you when you logged in.
