Quoting a comrade from FAUDA, a Palestinian anarchist org:
There are about 15 anti-Zionist resistance groups in Palestine, of which our movement is one. Hamas and Islamic Jihad are among these groups. All resistance groups are together and follow the same goal. We should not divide them. Israel wants to divide between the left and groups like Hamas and use this division for its own benefit. So we must be alert and not play. in the enemy’s playground. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Kitab al-Aqsa and other armed resistance groups in Palestine have always been destroyed in the Western media for their anti-Zionist stance and actions.
But there are differences in the fighting pattern. Fauda movement has invited all people, whether Muslim, Jewish or Christian, to join the popular and national resistance against apartheid. Well, Hamas is purely Islamic and has no non-Muslim forces. But it doesn’t matter, now is not the time for internal conflicts.

I have to say, Fauda is an amazing name for an anarchist organization. That's "chaos" or "anarchy“ in Arabic.

who actually says that, of all reasons, is why one isn't supposed to support hamas? did this happen to you?
what reason ppl gave to me is: they are violent and engaged in terrorist activities. that's it.

"They'd kill you if you lived in Gaza" is commonly cited, though usually to LGBT people.

the israelis would kill LGBT ppl if they lived in gaza too tho. not because they're LGBT tho. just because they live in gaza.
