I guess in the short term it only means we might get slightly cheaper Tesla's from Shanghai like we did in 2023.

Well, for one you would need cars that meet Canadian regulations and has a network of service centers and/or dealership for parts and reparation.

There are few cars built in China that meets these 2 requirements.

We're not going to see Byd or Xaomi cars anytime soon.

Japanese and Korean manufacturers will need to figure out if adapting their Chinese product line for Canadian regulations makes sense or not.
