What android client can I use?

Hello, totally new here, Reddit immigrant.

Hopefully this is an appropriate place to ask this.....

Have signed up (obviously!) and currently building up my subscriptions via the web interface, all is good.

I went looking for an android client and settled on Tusky, based on users and reviews. However I cant seem to sign in to this account with it - the login prompt is "which instance?" and I have tried various forms using my username and not (so feddit.uk, @feddit.uk, urbanmoth@feddit.uk, !urbanmoth@feddit.uk, @urbanmoth:feddit.uk) none of them work.

Can I not use this client with feddit.uk? or am I doing something totally stupid (which has been known!)

Welcome!

Personally I like Voyager (Google Play | F-Droid)

I recommend taking a look at https://www.lemmyapps.com/ and compare the options listed there

Excellent, thank you

Tusky is a Mastodon client, it won't work for Lemmy. Personally, I'm quite happy with Thunder as my Lemmy client.

While Lemmy and Mastodon are both part of the Fediverse, and can talk to each other to some extent, they are different pieces of software with different clients.

Ah, got it. (So it was the 'stupid' option!, thought as much!) Thanks

Summit is a pretty decent Lemmy client.

I personally use connect and like it a lot

Hi! I'm about a week ahead of you by the sounds of it. The issue with Tusky is a technical one about Lemmy but I've found Thunder for Lemmy works fine. It may not be the best but it's very Reddit- like. I'm sure others will direct you to the better options if there are any.

Boost enjoyer here. I followed it across when Reddit did the big stupid API change that killed 3rd party app access.

Now then, when I joined about 3 years ago, "Jerboa" was the default Lemmy mobile phone app - I still use it, and it seems to work fine. There are some minor annoyances, but no real complaints.

Definitely working fine with Feddit.uk

I like Thunder for an Android client. It has a good interface and the devs are active on GitHub and have fixed a couple bugs that I have reported.
