UK government to build digital ID in-house

I was about to say this was the first thing they’ve said I agree with but then I kept reading.

Replying to Liberal Democrat MP Martin Wrigley, who asked about the possible involvement of technology companies such as Palantir, the minister replied: "We expect the new digital ID to be designed, built and run by in-house government teams, not outsourced to external suppliers." However, he did not rule out the use of "specialist external services or expertise."
