Hehe that was me 40 years ago. A Toshiba upright shoebox mono tape recorder, a 3.5mm to chunky headphone plug adapter, and a toiletries bag neatly stuffed with 20 cassettes. This was pre-walkman era.

It's an old meme but it is still valid.

This has to be AI. Weirdly low quality, table placememt and size makes no sense, glasses don't support themselves on ears (headphones are way lower compared to his glasses). Headphone cable size is inconsistent as well.

lime@feddit.nu · 27 pts · 200d (1 reply)

looks like a completely normal train table to me, and moving the glasses so they don't interfere with the headphones is a common thing to do

YoSoySnekBoi@kbin.earth · 11 pts · 200d

Agreed, also it just looks too natural to be AI. It has real film grain that AI just doesn't reproduce. The shitty quality is just regular ol' JPEG compression artifacts too; you can tell because they are cubic instead of weird and blobby like AI. I'd be shocked if this wasn't real

This photo is at least 10 years old

tgf@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 200d

Thanks. I hate how seeing pictures like this now just makes me suspicious immediately.

oktoberpaard@feddit.nl · 9 pts · 200d

The tables are foldable, the glasses moved up to avoid being pinched between the ears and the skull and the quality is probably due to an old compact camera/phone combined with low light and heavy compression.

probable_possum@leminal.space · 9 pts · 200d

Nope. This is a pre ai meme image. Source: I remember it. Trust the random guy from the internet.

Shit like this is more annoying than AI. "Hurr I can tell from the pixels."

BootLoop@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 200d

If you keep saying everything is AI eventually you'll be right! Keep it up!

Damage@feddit.it · 3 pts · 200d

I don't think so, but I'd just like to point out we had photo editing before AI
