The reasoning for the name Maxima is really neat: It's the farthest you can get from the Origin.

Neat!

Could maxima-cli be used to implement EA support in Heroic? Feels odd to not consolidate considering it already does Epic, GOG and Amazon.

Refactoring Maxima to new architecture allowing multiple frontends to co-exist

Maybe yes eventually?

Heroic FAQ:

In order to add support for another store, we would first need for a CLI too for the given store to already exist that could manage the basic features we expect: login, fetching data, installation, etc.

Looks promising.

Yup. Hence my speculation. Heroic is a frontend for existing cli-based launchers.

And now Zoom-Platform too

The maxima name is taken. Maxima is the symbolic algebra system.

It also shares the name with a grocery store.

Hopefully they rename it to (at least) "Maxima Launcher".
