Turns out making all your trade partners hate you and threatening to invade them is not good for business.

I mean, it goes to show what these polls are worth in practice. Vibes Based Economics is just randomly selected individuals echoing their partisan media of choice.

Public opinion on the economy inverted in '21 and '25, practically on inauguration day. What do you draw from that? If Harris had won in November, how many liberals would be bullish on AI and dismissive of all that student debt? How many conservatives would be screaming about high taxes destroying the economy and immigrants stealing all the jobs?

We're not even talking about personal experience at this point. Oil dipped under $60/bbl but the Republicans in big O&G states aren't complaining. Tech stocks are scrapping historic new highs, but folks in the big tech metropoles are as bearish as ever.

the economy was bad under biden in so much as he had not been able to recover completely from trump1. people are stupid.

dmalteseknight@programming.dev · 7 pts · 200d (1 reply)

He also had to deal with the aftermath of covid and also deal with the russia Ukraine war.

HubertManne@piefed.social · 3 pts · 199d

oh yeah and part of that was covid was not really being effectively dealt with before he took office.

DarkFuture@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 199d

Yeah, typically re-hiring someone you fired isn't a wise decision.

Also, numbers exist and when you look at them you can clearly see this fucking dipshit doesn't know what he's doing. You can also clearly see that Republicans never know what the fuck they're doing cuz our economy tanks under their leadership every. fucking. time.

A failure of a businessman manages to fail at business. Absolutely no one could have predicted this.
