Sears back then and today

Yes, Sears still exists. Those are the remaining five locations. Not geographically accurate lol.

Concordtinople sounds like a place you’d make up on the spot if you were trying to hide your identity.

The place they're referring to is Concord, CA but I suppose calling it Concordtinople made it fit in better with the meme haha

Most of the senior employees at the remaining Sears were transferred from other stores they've closed. They're aware lol.

Remember watching Sears commercials as a kid and thinking their products were magic

The ones in bigger font are the only full sized stores, the rest have been downsized.

Here in Mexico they're still alive and kicking, with more than 40 stores.

They're not the same company tho. The Sears in Mexico is a modern store similar to Macy's in the US. Meanwhile if you step into an American Sears, that is if you still find one, it's like you've stepped into a time warp back to the 80s. Except there's not that much inventory anymore and half the appliances they have on display are still in boxes that have shipping labels from stores they've closed years ago.
