It was presented by German author Mark-Uwe Kling in a hilarious way by voicing comic panels about Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk being the only two inhabitants on Mars and their daily lives as two very lonely rich people.
I've been wanting to start this movement in my town. I even know a good hangout place with a lot of open minded folks where I could maybe hold classes on it..I just don't know enough.
I wonder if its worth it though. Even if I get a bunch of people to move to Foss only and get away from the corpos, there's still flock cameras and everyone else's phones watching and recording our every move. Hard to win.
It's totally worth it. We can underestimate how much impact our small local groups can have, but they're essential to build strong communities. It's also much easier for people to switch to alternatives when in groups.
Americans need awareness more than anyone. I've tried to get them on board with digital alternatives and privacy discussions. It's futile and exhausting. I think people like me will need to organize and build awareness campaigns to make a difference.
It was literally started less than 2 months ago, it's going pretty well for a national movement. I don't think it's explicitly limited to German only, if you want to do an event, you can sign up on the website and do it.

Most good changes are difficult. And it's not "all or nothing", every small victory is worth it on its own.

Why is it only in German?

I'm guessing that it was made by someone who speaks German.

Impossible!
People only use languages other than English, to make fun of Americans. But as soon as there are no Americans near, we all switch back to English /s
