I have my own version of this.

Why is this giving me Alien vibes ...

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world · 34 pts · 180d

Thats when you rub the belly. Can't move or he'll fall. Guess it's belly rub time!!! Silly kitty!

After owning multiple cats I’m now 99% sure that the „hang on“ cat from that motivational poster is having the time of their lives.

Why are they so drawn to the basement ceiling

faythofdragons@slrpnk.net · 2 pts · 179d

If I fits, I sits

jqubed@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 180d (7 replies)

Why do so many basements have ceiling tiles? It always looks strange to me in a residential environment

Holytimes@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 179d

Ease of access to pipes and duct work. It's a FUCKING GOD SEND if you actually own your home.

sudoMakeUser@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 180d (1 reply)

It's often to allow access to pipes and wires and heat ducts if any issues arise.

toynbee@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 179d

Ha! I got ahead of the game and just had an unfinished basement for five years! Even easier access!

American homes...cheap AF. They only put bricks on the side facing the street.

ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 179d

American homes…cheap AF.

One reason for this, believe it or not, is slavery. One very under-appreciated aspect of cotton plantations is that cotton (in the days before artificial fertilizers) very quickly exhausted the soil of the American South, leaving behind land that was mostly only suitable for growing pine trees. This left pine wood as a cheap and plentiful resource for building houses. Southern US pine is now so plentiful that it's even the source of most of the chopsticks in China.

Bricks cannot be put at ground level. They will deteriorate.

if it it's only on the front are they even using full bricks or just brick face?

jqubed@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 179d

I think on a residential exterior I’ve usually seen full bricks, but they’re only a facade nowadays, not structural, so it’s only one deep and then normal wood framing and plywood behind the brick. I have seen at least once on a house show where they just made lines in stucco and painted it to look like brick, and brick face tiles on the interior.

Does it.. Ah, watch you masturbate?

trongod_requiem0432@lemmy.world · -2 pts · 179d (9 replies)

Dude. Wtf. Use the bar analogy. Would you say this in a bar with friends and strangers around the table when someone shows you a cute picture of his cat? How you react and make it about masturbation is just suuuuuper weird.

Ceiling Cat is an ancient meme, over 20 years old. That is what Ceiling Cat does though.

SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 179d

The best memes age like wine.

Yes. Especially if I was stoned.

This wooshed over your head so hard and fast I'm surprised your windows didn't blow out from the pressure🤣

They're just one of today's lucky 10,000. No shame in that

You wouldn't? I'm so sorry you can't joke around with your own friends. And it's on the strangers for eavesdropping, you're not talking to them.

trongod_requiem0432@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 179d (2 replies)

That belly looks mighty fluffy.

d00ery@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 179d (1 reply)

And stretched our like that I'd imagine limited options for kitty retaliation 😅

I always like to help my cat learn the error of his ways whenever possible.

trongod_requiem0432@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 179d

They're such drama queens. "Oh no, I'm getting a free massage! Horrible! How dare you!" lifts paw menacingly
