European government officials and institutions (on all levels) should at least stop using Twitter to communicate with people.

100%, truly shocking that they're still there. Literally feeding free content for the profit of the wealthiest man on earth who happens to be a nazi.

PS: and the reason they remain there is that they're not questioned about it because every f* reporter is also still there.

Should prepare the people though, in switching beforehand. A news announcement, for example, to strongly recommend switching to federated media.

They have. I've set up a Signal relay for some people there, so they can continue to communicate with the civilised world.
