Long story short, deleted my account and made this new one. Communities I moderated are still on the instance, and I was hoping to ask to be given moderator perms again by instance admins.
However, attempting to PM admin@lemmy.ca gives me a message stating that I'm unable to message the account as my account is too new or has too low a reputation (most likely the former).
Would it be possible to remove the account age requirement regarding PM'ing the admin account? This seems like it could be a possible deterrent for newer users if they're seeking help and assistance.

Your account is old enough now to send private messages. It just prevents accounts that are less than 24 hours old from sending pm's. It is a good idea to exempt messages to a local admin or staff member though from this.

That would be a helpful feature request :)
I don't think there is a big risk to admins since we can just nuke the account and not approve new registrations if it becomes a problem to us.

edit: I made you a moderator on the four communities I saw listed on your old account. I also made you the owner of the three that had no other mods.
