An always up-to-date sheet with verified accounts from news organizations in the #Fediverse

https://fingolas.eu/fediverse/overview.html

It's now way prettier and contains almost 1300 accounts.

You can show/hide columns, there is a powerful custom search and a button to download an CSV with the handles of all visible accounts for import. There's also the language, the country of origin, and a direct link.

Those pie charts are really hard to read. Those colors are too similar.

There are numbers, too.

But I'll look into it. I'm using DataWrapper and it's not very customizable.

My guess is that these out of the box colors are probably fine with 3 or 4 things. But with a lot of items, you’re really forced to rely on the key.

Brunbrun6766@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 163d (1 reply)

You don't like 4 shades of blue?

Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 163d

More like 20

glimse@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 163d (5 replies)

Need an eyedropper tool to figure out which color represents each country

fingolas@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 163d (4 replies)

With a mouse, you can hover over it and it will highlight the corresponding part.

glimse@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 163d (3 replies)

No mouse on phone :( why not use the full spectrum of colors? There's like a 1 shade difference between each one

fingolas@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 163d (2 replies)

That's the standard in DataWrapper. From my experience they surely have a blogpost on why this is the only right way to do it. πŸ˜‰

glimse@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 163d (1 reply)

That's so weird, It's great info but so hard to parse!

fingolas@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 163d

I found their explanation and as I suspected, they don't want to distract you. πŸ˜‰ https://www.datawrapper.de/blog/pie-charts But they're also saying, that this is not the right chart for so many values. So I'll retry.

I am relatively new to the fediverse.

What is the verification process?

fingolas@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 163d

They'll basically have to have a link to the account in their website.

ByteMe@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 163d (4 replies)

Doesn't seem to work on firefox Android

fingolas@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 163d (3 replies)

It takes a couple of seconds to load the data.

ByteMe@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 163d

Oh, sorry

chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 163d (1 reply)

I also noticed that, maybe it would help to add some kind of loading progress indicator?

fingolas@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 163d

Yeah, I'll try
