You should check out https://qbz.lol/

It was a game changer for me

Edit: Or qobuz-player for sweet TUI!

I've tried the qbz flatpak but noticed it was a bit slow and buffered a lot when compared to just using the site. However seeing that TUI you posted, I will be setting that up today and checking it out. thanks, had no clue someone built a TUI for it.

Both projects are great and very active! I know there has been some challenges with QBZ in Flatpak. There's a guide on it. And also on some GPU/WM combos due to WebKit, Wayland and Nvidia. There are a bunch of settings now for fixing those kind of stuff.

I use the qobuz-player TUI on my home laptop with very limited resources. On my beast work laptop I only run QBZ. Tried both the web player, electron flatpak wrapper and official client in Bottles, but none of those can measure up

@rozodru River has a very good methodology - just implement the compositor and leave layout/window management to others. I just wish they had window shadows and blur/dim for unfocused windows.

Yeah I also wanted the blur/dim for unfocused windows. I tried going the DWL route because there's a patch to do just that but it's an absolute headache to get working on NixOS. I mean I couldn't figure it out for the life of me, just kept failing to build. so I settled with River.
