So here's my concept:
I want to take the SCP story 'What Happened to Site 13' and make a Delta Green campaign out of it. (I think the story is well worth the read.)
Then I want to run my players through it, and in the end the site is transported to another world.
Then the end state would be translated to a D&D 5e campaign, and they'd have to clean up their messes as heroes.
Pathfinder and GURPS also come to mind as good options but I am open here. I also run my games through FoundryVTT, so games supported there are ideal for me. That said, I am still open to other systems for the translation. Shadowrun could be brutally fun.
I see four big problems:
-
A ton of work. Yes, but the end result would be publishable, I think. Even if for free, people might love it.
-
The genre mishmash will not work. That very well could be.
-
I am shoehorning the players into a solution in the Delta Green side, contrary to how these games work. Alternate solutions need to be viable. I don't have an answer here.
-
I have never played Delta Green at all. So I am putting this idea out here for people to poke holes in or offer ideas.
Any thoughts, ideas, pointers, admonishments, etc?

Not an experiences DG player either, but perhaps the agents can be the third team in after discovery. Then some information can have gotten out.
DG seeks to contain and destroy, made all the more difficult as they often have limited resources and often litle real jurisdiction. Some of the stress is to identify the issue, contain it (killing vitnesses, tampering with evidence, destroying things) and move out in a timely fashion to be back to family and desk jobs Monday morning.
Alternatives are running it as as Majestic12/NRO Delta?

The third team is almost certainly the way to go - alternately the players would run multiple teams trying to solve the issue.
I don't know about Majestic13 or NRO Delta and will look into them.
Also, thanks for coming back to this old post!

Depending on when you set the adventure DG are the "cowboys", tasked with mythos related incidents. Majestic 12 is the ones doing aliens, but they have sold out to get alien tech. NRO Delta is the Majestic 12s MiB.. As in deadly killers recruited from special forces. This site could easily be a M12 research station.
::: spoiler Handler only regarding the aliens The "aliens" are in fact a front for one of the mythos. :::
