Maybe some fellow Slovenian can explain.
As someone without any knwoledge about the countries inner politics: The US officially announced it's going to boost right-wing movements across Europe to influence the continent in its favor. Investing loads of money into election campaigning can influence public opinion.

True but.. countries have own agency, the idea that the US can influence everything and everyone as it pleases is very naive.

I don't think that's naive.
The us have influenced many aspects of european life in one way or another, same for most of the world. To influence =/= to be the only reason for.

Countries' LEADERS do.
And that makes the *countries* that much easier to extort and compromise.
