I got a two million tile in 2048

Whenever I want to just shut my brain off and mindlessly play a game, I have this game of 2048 on a 7x7 grid on my phone. I have been playing this same ongoing grid nearly every day, a few minutes at a time, for literally months. Because it is on a much larger grid than the standard 4x4, it takes nearly zero thought/effort and is difficult to actually lose (though definitely not impossible). Recently, I finally achieved a tile valued at 2,097,152. To be clear: you probably shouldn't be too impressed by this. It really takes no skill to do this, just a lot of time. I thought someone might find this mildly interesting or something.

I switched from android to GrapheneOS because of battery life and non-easily-replaceable battery (the security is a bonus), and doing so exposed me to F-driod and the FOSS apps that brought back sanity from the enshittifcation of mobile apps, including cool little games like 2048. It's a nice little game. Congrats on the score. Recently, I found an emulator for the TI-89 calculator and was surprised that TI had a free to download ROM OS for it on their website. I wouldn't have found this stuff if I wasn't pushed out of corporate walled hellscapes, something, something silver lining and all that.

Omg thanks so much. I used to love this game but hate the ads. Plus this version is a little different regarding tile size choices and swiping the entire board instead of adding one row at a time. I'm stoked!

I play a mindless game daily too. Usually while on the can. The numbers don’t even properly fit in the display anymore.

I got 4 million on Block Blast.

That’s insane, congrats!

Thank you for sharing!

Do you have any other recommendations for such games? I've been looking for "mindless" games but I haven't had much luck finding any

I however have found "Breakout 71" which is pretty cool!

I used to play "Subway Surfers" a little, but got tired of the gameplay being designed around microtransactions etc (similarly, for many other mobile-friendly web-based games on some websites)

I've also tried to find other similar runner games on Steam (again, I haven't found a favorite :( ), but unfortunately the Steam Deck can't always replace a phone in many everyday scenarios :(

If you like solitaire games, check out 'aisleriot solitaire'.

I play mostly puzzle games, which are not really mindless. But Lato might fit that niche

But why were you recording your screen?

Because I could tell that I was about to create a 2M tile soon and thought it would be neat to capture the moment.
