Hey there!
I'm quite new to the fediverse and got a question. On the instance I am, I can e.g. search for the community !gonewild@fedinsfw.app, which is being found and I can join it bla bla bla (or, as you see, post in this community here).
But when searching for example for !Anal@fedinsfw.app, my instance says that it cant find anything.
Is this intended behaviour and how do I know why it cant find it?

First thing, just in case, check your settings and make sure you have nsfw enabled. Your instance may have never had someone who went to that community so the posts haven't been loaded onto your instance, that can take a few minutes after first access. Your instance may have some communities blocked for some reason, maybe make an account on another instance just to test.

Already checked, NSFW is enabled. Hence I can see other communities of this instance.
I dont know of anyone else looked into these subs so yes, that could be something :D
Instance is not blocked.

You cannot see them because they are not federated. Does !anal@fedinsfw.app work for you?
Some app aloe you to paste a fediverse link into it and it will take you to that community on your home instance.

The
!name and the direct link (like in browser) both show the community forgonewild. But both dont work foranal.Diocese3049@fedinsfw.app · 1 pts · 157d
Odd that the bang link does not work. How about this direct post link https://fedinsfw.app/post/54506

It searched for like 10 seconds and then gave no search results. :C

Why not register an account on here?

Because it's not that I need to access these communities. It's more that I want to understand why I can't find them via the instance I'm at - I suspect this problem could also be there for other communities.

In that case, I suggest posting in !piefed_help@piefed.social where people with more knowledge of the software will see it.
