Sounds cool in theory, dumb in practice. Ships are registered all over the place, and cargo then goes all over the place, what's the criteria for getting on the whitelist? And how can you be sure that the country that mined a shipping route is gonna a) keep their word and b) ensure it's clear for you and only you to traverse? Something more realistic would require an actual meeting and legal agreements, like the grain deal in the Black sea a few years ago
They might have just mined certain parts to make ship navigation slower and give Iran a smaller target area for their drones and bombs. Or they can be remotely armed/disarmed maybe. Lots of options to make this possible.
This is like watching the Senate argue who' needs the points and will be the 3rd no vote just before a measure fails by 1 vote.
I an SURE the 5 US naval carrier groups will do NOTHING about that 🤣. Certainly in the history of history a boat has never parked in the middle of a straight and block it for months. Never.Â
The only thing that will stop this is mid terms or someone flying a flock of drones with ieds at Trump during the UFC show.
Midterms won’t stop this. Republicans once again put us in a lose-lose situation and when/if we get a Democratic government they will get the blame for not fixing it fast enough.
More like Democrats could get a super majority and magically somehow some minor bit of Congressional tradition will stop them from taking back war powers.
Well, are you expecting the US to mine the strait? Or to attack unaligned ships?
Because no, they won't be able to close it down just by parking ships there. If those carriers were some 10 times larger, they could, but they are not.
Canada would have to distance itself from both Israel and the US first. The latter has very real and serious security issues, due to the expansionist bullshit the regime has been spouting lately.
