Cats know borders aren't real

This was purrfect, couldn’t stop laughing.

It was so wholesome that I had to post. First video I've shared on lemmy.

I think somehow it shows how absurd this war between our countries really is. Our border is literally a ditch that a cat jumps over with zero effort. Why are we even fighting.

Congrats on the first post and hello from Piefed.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Funny. Next up, immigrant geese invade from Canada.

Cat "owner" is an asshole. Like, I get that cats want to explore and decimate bird populations outside, etc... but indoor cats live longer and the situation is better for everyone if you don't let them outside unsupervised. It's the equivalent to letting your kid eat candy every night and not brush their teeth because it "makes them happy". Except in this case, it affects more than just yourself. You have to be the caretaker/parent and do what's right...

EDIT: Downvote me all you want because your feelings are hurt, but I am morally and factually right.

Never understood how people consider outdoor cats pets. They're putting food out for a feral. Quite often they're not vaccinated or fixed.

mrcleanup@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 154d

Ferals are scared of people and not socialized at all. There's a huge behavioral difference.

I knew this comment was coming. Agree on bird populations. My parents always had a farm cat and the last two lived for over 20 years each. The current one is 12.

If you look at that road on google maps where the video is shot, there is basically zero traffic. For natural predators the only ones the kitty needs to worry about is bald eagles I think. I bet that cat will die of old age.

You anticipated someone would post a reasonable plea to keep pets indoors or supervised for their own good. Congrats? But neither that nor your personal anecdote changes the facts about this issue...

theres also seems to be the whole "spay/neuter" and release trend going on, those cats need to be in a shelter, not killing birds, or small animals. the only other mammal just as devastating is the rat(polynesian rat)

rabber@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 153d

Guess what kills rats?
